In Celebration of

Fred Petticrew

March 29, 1954 -  December 16, 2024

Passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, December 16, 2024 at the age of 70.
Fred was loved and will be dearly remembered by Tracy, Caitlin, Dawn, Pat, Lynn, the Marchant family and his extended family and friends at Wolseley.

Fred dedicated nearly 50 years to his career at Wolseley, formerly Frontier Refrigeration, where he was known by colleagues and clients for his extensive product knowledge and camaraderie.

A one-of-a-kind man, Fred marched to the beat of his own drum. He enjoyed the simple joys of playing pool and laughing with friends in the garage sharing cherished memories while drinking a cold Molson Export. Whether folding laundry or sharing a well-rehearsed repetitive story, Fred found contentment in the everyday moments that connected him to the people he loved most.

In Fred’s memory, we encourage you to honour him in what he enjoyed most: join the company of a dear friend sharing old stories, a cold beverage or two and, of course, a deep belly laugh.

He had so much love inside of him for everyone. Family, friends, coworkers, customers, quite literally everyone. He enjoyed the simple things in life. He always had a story to share. If you’ve heard it before, you’d nod and smile and let him tell it however many times he’d like, because story telling always made him light up.

He loved collecting music albums (cd and vinyl), movies and rare coins. His favourite shows were Coronation Street, Jude Judy, Maury and Cops. He also loved everything Star Trek.

My dad had the absolute best laugh. You’d hear it the most when he was hanging out with his best friend Al. I’d always love to join in, meeting him & his buddy in the garage. While they opened up a beer, I’d grab a wine glass from the cabinet and pour myself an apple juice to join.

We’ll miss you so much dad

I remember as the MC at his wedding to Tracy introducing them as Mr and Mrs Pedicure. Our thoughts are with the family.

Fred was a great brother, and a great guy. He always had my back. I will forever cherish the time I spent with him in the last two years. I loved listening to his stories (he had lots of them!). And we had a laugh reminiscing about growing up, and looking through old photos. I will really really miss him. RIP big brother. I love you 😘

I’m so sorry for your loss. I wish I had the opportunity to meet him. He has a very warm smile. May our good Lord surround you both with comfort and love.
