In Celebration of

Fred Cromar

August 28, 1932 -  March 28, 2024

Fred Cromar passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Lindsay Ross memorial hospital at the age of 91. Greeted lovingly in heaven by his wife Gladys, his son Steven and his siblings Joyce, Edith, Howard and Barbara. Dearly missed by his daughter Karen (Gord) and his grandchildren Leah, Jake and Riley. Lovingly remembered by all friends and family. We will truly miss hearing all his stories about his many trips and wonderful long life he lived. Fred enjoyed his many years at Toronto Hydro, where he met lifelong friends and golfing buddies.

He had many pleasant times meeting friends walking at Centennial Park with his beloved shelties. As a father he instilled a love of nature in his children, spending many happy times canoeing and camping. The family would like to thank the staff of Adelaide Place Retirement Community in Lindsay for being so kind and caring during Fred short time there. Donations can be made to “The Friends of Algonquin” charity to help support the great outdoor space Fred loved so much.

Fred was a long-time friend of my parents. My Dad was with Guelph Hydro and they all met at a Hydro function sometime in the 80s and stayed friends. Fred was a gentle, kind and genuine man. His humour and friendship will be greatly missed. Love to his family.

My deepest condolences Karen and family. I have fond memories of hanging out at your mom and dad’s back when we were teenagers. Your dad was a gentle soul man and will surely be missed. Lori
