In Celebration of

Frank Znidarec

July 19, 1938 -  June 11, 2019

ZNIDAREC Martin- After complications from surgery with his family at his side,
Martin passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29 2023.

Martin is predeceased by his parents Fanika and Frank Znidarec. Predeceased by his beloved wife Helen, his best friend, and love of his life. Loved son in law of the late Bridget and Frank McAteer. Adored Father of Joan Znidarec, Marlo Znidarec- Lupis (Father-in-law to Christian Lupis) Dida of Marella and Father of Christine Znidarec.

Dear brother of the late Stan (late Mary), John (late Beverley), late Frank (Doreen) and sisters Anne, late Margaret and Mary (late John). Fun loving Uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Cherished by his family in Croatia, The United States and Ireland.

Family and friends will be forever impacted by Martin's zest for life and young heart.

For fifty plus years he worked side by side with his three brothers forming The Znidar Brothers Corporation. Throughout his career he made lifelong friends and enjoyed travel around the globe.

Martin's generosity and huge heart lead to years of being involved in various charities and causes.

Martin was a Grand Deputy Knight of The Knights of Columbus. He helped establish The Knights of Columbus Council at St. Christophers Church in Clarkson. He was always active in his church community serving as Eucharistic Minister. He was on various committees and volunteered at countless social events from flipping pancakes to playing Santa Claus. A key founder and lifelong supporter of The Out of the Cold Program (Community Meal) at St. Mary Star of The Sea Church in Port Credit.

A proud supporter of The Croatian Fraternal Union (CFU) and member of a Toronto lodge that had its beginnings at his parent's kitchen table.

Martin adored his granddaughter Marella, her memories of him will be forever cherished. A loving Dad who was involved in his daughters' lives, from making the best French toast ever, lots of fun family outings, late night chats in the kitchen, to always helping the endless stray animals his girls brought home.

Always the first to stand by anyone in need, his heart and home were always open.

We take comfort in so many charmed memories filled with love. He taught his family compassion, kindness and instilled in us a strength and passion to follow our hearts.

Our hearts are broken that we have had to say our final Ciao. We take comfort in knowing that he is now dancing with our Mom in heaven.

Thank you to the team at UHN Toronto General Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated (www.kidney.ca).

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St. Mississauga (Highway 10 N of Q.E.W.) on Wednesday July 5, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Frank (Dad), the impact that you have made on so many lives can only be measured by the wonderful memories we have and we have so many of you. You have taught us all so much, but your generosity, kindness & your selflessness is how I will remember you.
We will always look back with fondness and a smile knowing that the time we had with you were some of our best times.

"What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why you left this earth as you did, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget"
