In Celebration of

Frank Vircillo

June 27, 1947 - May 19, 2022

Frank passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 surrounded by family. Frank was born June 27th, 1947 in Carpanzano, Italy to the late Luigi and Carmela (Adamo) Vircillo. The family came to Canada in the 1950s and settled in the west end of Toronto. Frank attended St Basil’s boys’ school where he met and maintained many lifelong friends and memories. After graduation from Wilfred Laurier University, Frank went on to a career in social work with the Catholic Children's Aid Society and the WSIB. He also enjoyed his work helping families with adoption. Frank married Susan Nugent December 3rd, 1983 and in 1985 welcomed their son David (Husband to Parul and father to Annika and Ethan). Frank maintained an active lifestyle and was always ready for a round of golf or tennis. He completed multiple marathons, was an avid walker, cycled trails with friends, and practiced tai chi. Frank was drawn to spiritual readings and deepened his passion by becoming a Reiki healer. He was often a source of comfort to many friends and family. Frank leaves behind his sister Rita (Ron), and nieces Bianca (wife to David, mother to Elliot and Fiona), Lauren (wife to Michael, mother to Isabella and Julian), brother- in- law Dave Nugent (Paulette) and nephews Phil, Simon (husband to Anna, father to Thomas and Julia), Jeremy and niece Emilie (Tyrell). Frank spent time as a patient of Sunnybrook Hospital, where he received excellent care by a compassionate medical team. Susan would also like to thank the physicians and staff of Dorothy Ley Hospice.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Turner and Porter “Yorke” Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway, on Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 2-5 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, May 30, 2022 at the Turner and Porter “Yorke Chapel” at 3 p.m.
