Gentle, and deeply dedicated to his family and friends, Frank De Santis, 71, loving son of Matteo and Maria De Santis, and caring brother to Maria Leoni (De Santis) and Danny De Santis, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 22 surrounded by his devoted family, following a lengthy and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. A man of remarkable resilience, he lived a fulfilling life centered on family and love. Born in Roseto, a small town situated in the rolling hills and low mountains of the Province of Foggia, he immigrated to Canada at a very young age. Like many immigrant children who contributed to the family economy, he took a job at the age of 12 delivering drugstore prescriptions on his bicycle to residents’ homes not far from where his final resting place would be. Ever resourceful, and a man of many skills, he went on to forge successful career paths, including auto mechanic, restauranteur, and realtor. Along the way he touched many lives with his kindness and honesty. Frank is survived by his wife, Marina, son Robert, daughter Melissa, and grandchildren Benjamin and Christian. He will be deeply missed, but he leaves behind a treasure of wonderful memories.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson’s Canada.
