The family of Florine Gertrude Booth Baka honour her passing on Friday July 6, 2018 in Toronto, at the age of 84 years. Born in 1933 in Oshawa, to Verner Booth and Florence Farnham Booth, Florine graduated from Oshawa General Hospital School for Nurses in 1956 as an R.N. She loved nursing, music and her family. Florine will be remembered by her best friend and loving husband Henry, her children John (wife Teresa), and Ann (husband David). She will be missed greatly by her grandchildren Jessica and Michael; brother Eric (wife Wai); niece Emily (husband Rob); nephew Richard (wife Sarah), and cousin Irene. Florine is pre-deceased by brothers John Stewart, and Cecil (the late Nora). The Baka family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the incredible surgical staff of the Toronto Western Hospital for honouring Florine’s wishes, and to Kensington Hospice for their overwhelming support. A memorial service will be held at Turner & Porter, Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas Street West, Etobicoke on Thursday July 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. Guests are welcome to arrive beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Florine may be made to Doctors Without Borders.
