In Celebration of

Florence (Ying) Lew King

January 25, 1925 -  September 30, 2020

Peacefully in Mississauga on Wednesday September 30, 2020, at the age of 95 years,
Florence Lew King, (wife of predeceased Peter Lee King 1925-2009). Dedicated mother of son Stephen Peter Lee King, (Nancy Yuen King), and predeceased son Martin James Lee King. Devoted grandmother of Jennifer (Michael), Kristen (Steven), and Brittany. Great grandchildren Nathan, Joshua, and Madeline, Evan and Dylan.

Florence will be dearly missed by many. Her love for life and making fond memories with family and friends made her life rich and fulfilling in many ways. Fashion and style wrapped into business was her passion. Born and raised in Vancouver, she travelled to Toronto and saw opportunity to establish a business and open her own store. Married to Peter Lee King for 57 years, they shared their business -- CHINA TEMPLE -- for 38 years. Throughout her life Florence enjoyed many family reunions, and did much international travel with close friends and relatives but always said "there's no place like home". She loved to play bridge and she participated in many tournaments during her retirement years. Was also an avid golfer. She was a founding member of the Mon Sheong Foundation and assisted in several fund raising projects to build their first Home on D'Arcy St. in Toronto.

Special thanks to the Amica City Centre staff for excellent health care, which made her residence years very enjoyable.

In honour of Florence's wishes, there be no formal service at this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Mon Sheong Foundation 36 DʼArcy St., Toronto, M5T 1J7 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Auntie Flo was always so sweet and caring to everyone in her life, and her spirit clearly lives on in her children grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our hearts warm to think of her.
(I am so glad I got a chance to spend time with her just a short time ago it seems.)

We will always remember Aunt Flo as a classy, kind, and elegant individual. A role model for women and way before her time. She was the business head of China Temple, co-owned and managed with her loving husband, Peter. What a bright and caring individual. She loved her extended family and treated everyone as if they were her own siblings or children.

Flo was my amazing friend and mentor.
She inspired me, advised me and shared a spiritual outlook on life that has guided me.
I will always love her and I feel that she is watching us with a peaceful heart and warm smile.
I cherish the time we had together.

We met Florence when our son Michael married Jennifer. She was always so friendly and made us feel as if we were part of her family. I always enjoyed talking with her. We shall miss her.

I have incredibly fond memories of Auntie Flo working for 4 years on Saturdays at the China Temple. She had impeccable taste, style and grace. I cherished the time working there and really getting to know her.
She was a beautiful person inside and out.
We will miss you and we love you,
Peter, Jasmine, Alexandra & Max
