In Celebration of

Florence Janette Hogan

August 16, 1935 - November 23, 2022

Passed away peacefully at Trillium Mississauga Hospital, on November 23, 2022, at the age of 87.

Janette is survived by her daughter Karyn (Mark Swalwell), sister-in-law Cecilia Gaudon and niece, Diane Gaudon. Janette was predeceased by her husband Frank, brother and sister, Roy and Dorothy. Janette will be dearly missed by friends and family who knew her as a loving, generous and compassionate woman.

Janette was born on August 16, 1935, in Timmins, Ontario to Pearl (nee Newton) and Samuel Arquette. In time, the family moved to Kirkland Lake, where Janette spent her formative years. When Janette finished high school, she moved to Toronto to start her education in nursing and her long career of service and helping others. Over her varied nursing career, Janette had occasion to work at St, Michael’s hospital, the emergency room at Peel Memorial, serve as the Head of the immunization team for the Peel Region and provide geriatric nursing care to a number of Mississauga and Brampton nursing homes. Janette’s compassion and service was a consistent thread throughout her career.

It was in Toronto that Janette met and married Frank, and with their daughter Karyn, moved to Bramalea in 1967. Janette was an accomplished cook, baker and singer, and with Frank, loved to entertain and keep active within the Irish community. Janette had a lifelong fondness for animals; there was always a couple of cats in residence at the Hogan household.

The family is grateful for the care Janette received from the ICU nursing staff at Trillium.

There will be a private service for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, and to honour Janette's generous spirit, please consider donating to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca).
