It is with great sadness that the family of Ferdynand Burdzy announces his peaceful passing on November 9, 2025, at the age of 97.

Born in Poland on February 18, 1928, Ferdynand lived a remarkable life marked by resilience, devotion, and love. A survivor of a World War II encampment in Siberia, he continued his education in India before marrying his beloved wife, Kazimiera, in England. Together, they immigrated to Canada in 1954, where they built a beautiful life and family. Ferdynand was predeceased by Kazimiera in 2018, after 75 loving years together.

Ferdynand was a retired member of the Ford Motor Company, where he worked diligently for over 30 years. He will be deeply missed by his children Richard (Donna), Leslie (Laura), and Edward (Patti-Rae); his grandchildren Jeffrey (Kristine), Alexandra, Matthew, Christopher, and Gregory; and his great-grandchildren Bradley and Jennifer.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose wisdom and warmth touched everyone who knew him. Ferdynand had a lifelong passion for politics, history, geography, old movies, and the animal kingdom—always curious, engaged, and thoughtful about the world around him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. (east of the Jane subway) from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Catholic Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place afterwards at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Rd., Mississauga.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ferdynand’s memory to the Copernicus Lodge (Kopernik) or the Toronto Humane Society.

Forever remembered for his strength, kindness, and enduring love for his family, Ferdynand leaves behind a legacy of perseverance and compassion.
