FRANCESCA FILIPPELLI (GRADO)

November 20, 1945 -  November 21, 2018

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, November 21, 2018, at the age of 73 at Trillium – Mississauga Hospital. Born Francesca Maria Grado, November 20th, 1945, in Montallegro, Sicily, Italy. Married to the love of her life Santo Filippelli January 13, 1968 in Toronto. Affectionate and devoted Mother of Rosemary, Carmen (Marina), Franca (Peter), Joe (Allison). Proud and caring Nonna to Sante, Lucas, Ashley, Sofia, Cristian, Victoria, Gabriel, Jacob and Michela.

Mother, Wife, Nonna, immigrant, entrepreneur, a woman ahead of her time. Will be remembered as a savvy negotiator, a business-woman who provided and protected her family. She taught her children the virtue of hard work and value of a dollar.

She was a wonderful cook, and is remembered for sharing her love of Italian food and with her family. She was a lover of music, she enjoyed singing in the church choir and getting to Italian concerts and festivals with Sam all her children in tow. She was a fierce Briscola and Scopa player, who rarely let any of her kids win but always made it fun.

Her love of her homes, gardens made for a loving and comfortable home to share with her loyal husband and four children.
