In Celebration of

Ewart Allen

November 15, 1942 -  December 7, 2024

With great sadness we announce the passing of Ewart Stanley Allen at Toronto General Hospital on Saturday December 7, 2024. Ewart is survived by his beloved Wife Eva, beloved Sons Everton (Tony) and Ewart Jr (Jr), treasured Grandchildren Shawn, Justin and Sydney, cherished Great Granddaughter Kaylin and honorary Grandsons Eric and Brandon, sister Daphne and brother Charles, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Ewart’s physician Dr. Wycliffe Baird, his medical teams at Toronto General Hospital, Credit Valley Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital, as well as his extended health care family for the dedicated care they provided over the years, and for the many condolence calls to Eva.

Ewart was born in the beautiful Blue Mountain Valley area of Jamaica and came to Canada in 1970 to join his wife and set down roots for their family first in Toronto, then long term in Mississauga, Ontario.

Ewart loved his job working for the City of Toronto and spent his career with the City until his retirement. He was known as the guy who could fix anything particularly if it involved a vehicle.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the UHN Toronto General Hospital Foundation, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Diabetes Canada or Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation are appreciated.

Friends and family may pay their respects at Turner & Porter Neweduk Chapel 1981 Dundas Street W, Mississauga.

We will certianly all miss the 'mayor' of our small street, who met us regulary on the court as he was getting in his daily steps. Ewart will be remembered by our family as a tall man with a beautiful heart. Always smiling and always a pleasure to talk to. He would regularly ask about our family, ensuirng everyone was doing 'alright'. We always loved that he directed Eva from the driveway as she parked the caddy. He and Eva would spend many a summer evening cooling off in the garage. It was evident to us that they had a rare and sepcial kind of love. He would supervise as she tended to her garden, keeping things blooming and tidy. It was a pleasure to have had him as our neighbour and friend. He will certianly be missed.
May the Allen family find solace in the happy memories of your time together. - The Kieffers
