On a beautiful Sunday morning, Everett passed away at home with his sweetheart June at his side. We know Ev was greeted with excitement on the other side by many family and friends who have awaited his arrival. June and Ev have been blessed with 9 children who have helped enlarge the family to now include 104 members.
Ev was born in Mono Mills, Ontario and had much fun with his brother Cliff, never realizing they were living in Depression years. Sleigh riding, skating on the millpond, fishing, skiing and attending an 8 grade one-room schoolhouse were highlights of his youth. Ev worked the summers with local farmers during the ages of 11-15 prior to his family moving to Toronto. He attended Central Technical School and graduated with a Stationary Engineer Certificate. He is a man who can fix and build anything and spent his life doing so for his family and friends.
In 1950 Ev met June Marie Marchant at a dance at Masonic Hall on Yonge Street. While they were dating, June was introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and they began studying with the missionaries. While still investigating the Church, they married in the mission home on July 2, 1952 and were baptized later that year on December 18th.
Since then, both Ev and June have dedicated their lives to serving the Lord and striving to become more like Him. They love and embrace all they come into contact with. Their acts of kindness and generosity are countless. In addition to his full-time employment and raising a large family, Ev served in the community and many different capacities at church. A few areas of service include counselor in the Canadian Mission, bishop, scouting, Georgia Atlanta Mission president, teacher, Toronto Temple president and stake Patriarch.
Ev loves people and always had a big warm Ev Pallin smile for everyone. His acceptance and love were felt when speaking with him and when in his presence. His interactions with you and his family were among the most joyful moments of his life.
In lieu of flowers, Ev invites you to do a kind deed for a neighbour.
Thank you for sharing your lovely memories, they mean so much to us and have strengthened June and the family.
