In Celebration of

Everett Sherman Pallin

June 26, 1929 -  June 5, 2022

On a beautiful Sunday morning, Everett passed away at home with his sweetheart June at his side. We know Ev was greeted with excitement on the other side by many family and friends who have awaited his arrival. June and Ev have been blessed with 9 children who have helped enlarge the family to now include 104 members.

Ev was born in Mono Mills, Ontario and had much fun with his brother Cliff, never realizing they were living in Depression years. Sleigh riding, skating on the millpond, fishing, skiing and attending an 8 grade one-room schoolhouse were highlights of his youth. Ev worked the summers with local farmers during the ages of 11-15 prior to his family moving to Toronto. He attended Central Technical School and graduated with a Stationary Engineer Certificate. He is a man who can fix and build anything and spent his life doing so for his family and friends.

In 1950 Ev met June Marie Marchant at a dance at Masonic Hall on Yonge Street. While they were dating, June was introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and they began studying with the missionaries. While still investigating the Church, they married in the mission home on July 2, 1952 and were baptized later that year on December 18th.

Since then, both Ev and June have dedicated their lives to serving the Lord and striving to become more like Him. They love and embrace all they come into contact with. Their acts of kindness and generosity are countless. In addition to his full-time employment and raising a large family, Ev served in the community and many different capacities at church. A few areas of service include counselor in the Canadian Mission, bishop, scouting, Georgia Atlanta Mission president, teacher, Toronto Temple president and stake Patriarch.

Ev loves people and always had a big warm Ev Pallin smile for everyone. His acceptance and love were felt when speaking with him and when in his presence. His interactions with you and his family were among the most joyful moments of his life.

In lieu of flowers, Ev invites you to do a kind deed for a neighbour.

Thank you for sharing your lovely memories, they mean so much to us and have strengthened June and the family.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 95 Melbert Rd., Etobicoke followed by a reception. Those who are unable to attend are welcome to join through Zoom by using the Zoom button shown here.

It is an honor to have been associated with this great man! Being with him was a unique experience. He always showed a great interest in others, in their lives, their feelings, their ideas, their well-being. I feel a great love and respect for him!

The obituary and picture truly reflect the man he was. Dedicated to his family, committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and always prepared to be of service. To that I would add author and historian for his work on the Toronto Branch 1836 - 1960. To all 104 members of the Pallin Family may the Spirit be with you to comfort you in your time of loss.

I am forever grateful to Bishop Pallin for showing me how to serve, how to love, and how to work! I have loved and admired this man for my lifetime. As a youth He helped me set and complete goals in my life that have served me well. (I set a goal not to swear) 😂 Ev was a second Father figure to me and always just loved me and always was so excited to see me and catch up. I am eternally grateful that the Lord put him on my life path, I am a better person because of Ev Pallin. I will miss him 🥰

Dear Pallin Family: We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to have the pleasure of knowing Everett Pallin for over 51 years - he married us in July, 1970. We felt his outpouring of concern and love throughout the years. He was a natural at loving, serving and showing kindness to all that he met. He will be deeply missed. Treasure the precious memories that are yours forever .... we trust that those memories will comfort you and bring a smile to your face. He was truly remarkable at making everyone feel that they mattered, because to him, they did. He always took the time to listen, which is a gift. We hope that the strong family ties in your family will help you through this time of loss. Sending love and prayers. "Families Are Forever". Love & hugs
