In Celebration of

Evelyn Louise Zubek

October 1, 1946 -  January 13, 2022

On January 13th, 2022 we lost a truly beautiful person. Evelyn Louise Zubek died in hospital after battling cancer.

Throughout your life you made many friends and touched so many lives. Your fire and love for life was infectious and your laughter was contagious. Your generosity of spirit was unmatched. Your intelligent insights kept us on the right track, and you were never afraid to speak your mind and tell it like it is. You worked hard, because you loved what you did and you loved your Toronto Star family, and you showed us the value in that. Your volunteer work with the Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund, The United Way, and Heart House, demonstrated your love for people and your commitment to making the world a better place.

Sister, Auntie, Mother, our matriarch, confidant, caregiver, protector, and a best friend to many. Above all, you were our rock. There are no words to convey how much we love you. We are devastated but you taught us to be strong. We will continue on with your beautiful, strong, passionate soul in our hearts forever. Reunited with your beloved Wayne.

The family appreciates your understanding during this difficult time. Covid has limited our ability to celebrate together, however, there will be a celebration of life in the near future.

Please give generously to The Heart and Stroke Foundation and/or Heart House or any hospice in your area.

Thank you for loving her as much as we did. We know how much she loved you, too.
