It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our Beloved Husband, Father and Papa, Ernest David St. Amour on Friday, September 3rd, 2021 at the age of 71.

Loving husband of 47 years to Pat (MacPherson), Cherished Dad to Wanda (Phil), and Kari (Laurent). Proud Papa to Jake, Sydney, Ethan, Melanie and Nicolas. Pre-deceased by his little angel and eldest grandson Joshuah in infancy, his parents Eleanor and Edward St. Amour, his sister Eileen Laabs (Bill) , and his brother Eric (Karen). Ernie is survived by 2 sisters Evelyn (His big sister and confidant) and Edith (Windsor) (He was her Elvis).

While family was Ernie's #1 love, his true passion was fishing. He would often be seen in the “Love Boat”, cruising the Ottawa river, sporting his white captain hat, chasing mermaids and catching Sturgeon and Barbutts.

He also loved family gatherings whether it be at home, at the family cottage or in Cape Breton , he was an avid card player, enjoyed going to dances, watching sports, bowling and making up one-liner jokes that were only funny to him.

Ernie will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, especially his #2 sons Toby and Todd, his best friend of 50+ years Warren, and his honorary sisters Ellen and Gay.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, private visitation has been arranged in Mississauga followed by interment in Westmeath, ON.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Kidney foundation or the Heart & Stroke foundation would be greatly appreciated.
