In Celebration of

Erica Lesley Lewis

April 22, 1974 -  October 27, 2020

Erica Lesley Lewis, passed away peacefully on Oct 27, 2020 in her 47th year despite a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her husband and children. Erica was born April 22, 1974 in Etobicoke, to Jorge (Kico) and Nelly Sandoval and never strayed from her hometown roots. After a whirlwind courtship of 6 months, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Robert Lewis, in July of 1994. They spent the first seven years of their marriage enjoying each other and then began to welcome the first of four children in 2002.

Erica was an incredible person and loved nothing better than spending time with her family. She was a devoted mom and treasured her children. She also had a passion for travel and visited many destinations with her family. She loved her catholic faith, cultural traditions and family celebrations. Her life was a living example of her favourite bible verse, Eph 4:32 – “and be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

Growing up Erica was a Tae Kwon Do enthusiast who competed and won many tournaments along her way to obtaining her 2nd degree black belt in the sport. Erica worked at Dentistry on the Q since 1995 where she made lifelong friends that she called family, before she stepped down in 2019 due to her illness.

Erica is survived by her husband, Kenneth, son Kenneth Joseph, daughters; Kaitlyn Marie, Savanah Ashley and Trista Nelly. She is also survived by her parents Jorge and Nelly (Villacis) Sandoval, brother Jorge (Isabella) and sister Veronica. Erica additionally leaves behind many nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts, cousins and friends; too numerous to mention, who were beloved to her and were an important part of her life.

The family wishes to thank the amazing and compassionate care and support they received from Dr. Nadia Salvo of Dorothy Ley Hospice, Samantha Pinto of HLIN as well as the wonderful and caring nurses from Care Partners and Thornbrook.

Due to Covid restrictions, viewing will be invitation only.

We will always love and miss you aunt Erica. You were a kind and loving aunt and were always thoughtful and considerate. You always made time to attend all of our functions. I remember when you guys were living in that basement apartment and we came over for dinner and you made these awesome potato balls. I remember thinking I wish I knew had to cook like you. I also remember when you first came into the family thinking what beautiful long hair you had as well as that contagious smile you always beamed. We will miss that smile but I know you will always be smiling with us and will be at every family function as I know you want to miss those. I have enjoyed growing up and getting to know you and will miss sharing stories and trips with you. Until we meet again I know you will be our families angel. Love you always and forever your niece Amanda. As well as Richard, Jakub, Joshua and evalyn.
