In Celebration of

Emre Erim

August 19, 1961 -  August 16, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Emre Erim on August 16, 2023 at Toronto.

Emre is survived by his mother Atife Piristina and his brothers Cem Erim & Suleyman Kadioglu. He is lovingly remembered by his four nephews; Efe & Ata Erim, Era & Aren Kadioglu, his aunt Besa Kadioglu, sister-in-law Gonca Erim and the entire Pristine Family located in Canada, USA, UK & Turkiye.

Emre has served the Turkish and the Albanian communities across Canada as the General Manager of Sultan Travel in Toronto over 30 years. He was loved and respected widely in both communities. He had an elegant personality, we called him the prince of the family. It came to him naturally. His quite, observant and kind presence was a pleasure to be around.

Emre loved spending time with his nephews. Sundays were called 'Aco Day' (Aco means Uncle in Albanian). Never forgetting to bring chocolates for his nephews he always shined up around them, cuddling, clowning, nursing the whole nine yards he did all from day one, with always a deep love reflecting on his face. He has achieved selflessness, he loved his family with a very big heart.

He was a model student at shool all the way, graduated in honor lists each time. He competed internationally in Turkish Folkloric dance. He was as meticulous and precise as a scientist at his work. He loved following the latest developments in Space technology and global politics. He was a Formula1 enthusiast, watched it with great joy.

Emre immigrated to Canada in 1988 and lived always in Toronto. He never married yet had a happy family life especially since Cem got married with Gonca. They had 2 beautiful boys and Emre completely fell in love with Efe and Ata. Overnight he turned into a happy man and stayed that way until his last day.

We are in great pain but the gratefulness we feel for having him in our lives surpasses everything else. We will cherish the memories we had with him for the rest of our lives. We will protect and celebrate the legacy he left behind for us. He was a very good brother, a very good son and the best uncle ever. We treasure the life he shared with us over the pain that his death has brought us. Rest in eternal peace dear brother. You will live on forever in our hearts.

God said, to Him we belong and to him we shall return

Cem Erim (Brother)

Entered August 23, 2023 from Guelph

I had the pleasure and honour of identifying myself as your little brother for all my life, and regardless where you are, I will remain to be your little brother. I promise to take care of our mother, my wife and the boys whom you loved as they were your own. I will stand strong just like you did. Rest in-peace “Abi”. I will continue your legend, I will not fail you, I will pick up the flag and continue with our mission.
I love you abi, I love you so much. I will never forget you, you will always be in our hearts, I will remember you until my last breath. I will raise the boys as I promised, and they will know their uncle loved them. As we are preparing to live our remaining lives without your presence, I know we will meet again. Until then, sleep well big brother, be in peace. We will always love you and remember you as the perfect son, perfect brother, perfect unle that you were.
So long, canim abim. I love you, I will always love you.
