Sorry for your loss from all your Sutton cousins
Heather, Holly, Bruce and family,
Our condolences to the family - what a terrible loss to everyone who knew and loved Elva! Through her kindness and love of education, your mom had a tremendous impact on so many lives. Elva's thoughtfulness, wisdom, courage and grace will be missed by the Vuongs and Lorrains.
With lots of love, Anne and family
So sorry to hear of Elva’s passing. She was a great friend to our mother Carole since their days at teacher’s college. Our sympathies to the family.
To Heather, Holly and Bruce and children. Our deepest concern and prayer for you all at this time from Janice, Samuel, Megan, Gaby and Robbie and myself. One marvels at the way both blood and friendship brings our families together.
I will always remember your mother's special interview style of conversation, never a question for which a yes or no answer might suffice - as she was very good at getting the story...and telling a story on the other hand. Stories are the glue that make an otherwise haphazard and random world have meaning and purpose.
Also was touched at her very early interest in the ESL program perhaps as a forerunner for our own experience with Colombians, Chileans and France/Belgium French speakers.
Sorry that we cannot be with you tomorrow as the personal and professional elements in our recovery have forced some unanticipated rescheduling - but somehow we hope to bridge our "sea to shining sea" Canadian existence for a visit some time in the future.
God bless you all
Love
LL
Heather, Holly, Bruce and Family,
Sincere Condolences on the loss of your mother and grandmother. I have fond memories of the Duff dining room and meals together. Our (Holly and mine) high school musical exploits were always met with enthusiasm and she was a keen listener and supporter. Mrs. Duff's knowledge of English literature was an inspiration for me and opened my horizons to reading.
Thinking of you all today.
Love,
Susan
