In Celebration of

Elizabeth Skorbinski

August 5, 1934 -  August 7, 2025

With deep love and gratitude for her remarkable life, we share the passing of Elizabeth Bittroff Skorbinski, who died peacefully on August 7th, 2025 at the age of 91, at Oakville in her residence at Trafalgar Lodge.

Born on August 5th, 1934 in Kassel, Hesse, Germany, Elizabeth’s life journey took her across continents. From Germany to England, to South Africa, and eventually to Oakville, Ontario, which became her home.

While studying to become a nurse in London, England, she met the love of her life, Abraham Skorbinski. They shared a full life together until his passing in 2019, raising a family grounded in creativity, care, and deep appreciation for beauty.

Elizabeth was a woman of grace, style, and thoughtful presence. Her career at European Jewellers was a perfect expression of her elegant taste and creative spirit, one she generously passed on to her children and grandchildren. Whether through fashion, design, or the quiet dignity with which she carried herself, Elizabeth brought beauty into every space she touched.

Her love of art, music, and fashion was only matched by her deep affection for her garden a true work of living art. Friends and neighbours often visited just to admire the flowers she so carefully tended. Inside her home, everything had its place, and everything had purpose. She believed in presenting yourself and your surroundings with intention, and she gently encouraged others to do the same. During her final years, even through the challenges of illness, we came to know a gentler side of her. While she still maintained her typical grace, her warmth and tenderness took centre stage. The paradox of her illness is that it was such a gift to all around her as it allowed us to receive the full expression of her grace. Her playfulness, her laughter, her authenticity.

Elizabeth leaves behind her beloved children: Birgitta, Peter, Wouter, and Christopher, along with her grandchildren Sarah, Rebecca, Natasha, Tatjana, Yelena, Madison, Katerina, Alexander, Nicholas, Stephen, Zacqueriey, Abrianna, Luka, Angelina, Ethan & Elizabeth as well as her great grandchildren and friends who were touched by her warmth, elegance, and quiet strength. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Clarissa, whom she held in her heart with endless love.

Friends and loved ones are encourage to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, August 13th at 3PM at Turner & Porter Funereal home, 2180 Hurontario St, Mississauga.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 13 at 3 p.m. at Turner & Porter Funeral Home, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga.
