In Celebration of

Elizabeth Jane Bernice (Jean) Wilson nee Ferguson

July 28, 1930 -  March 9, 2025

On Sunday March 09th 2025 Mom peacefully bid this life farewell and was ushered into heaven with God’s love. Born July 28th 1930 she was the eldest daughter of Roy and Ethel Ferguson of Glen Huron Ontario. Sister to Bill, Elsa, Cecil, Nina, Jim, Winston and Russell.

Predeceased by her husband of 53 years James Russell, their beloved son James Richard and sons-in-law Ken Paterson and Geoff Snell. She is profoundly and deeply missed by her daughters Marilyn Paterson and Nancy Snell, her cherished grandson Gregory Snell, his wife Amanda and their children Ava and Lincoln. Mom was over the moon to be a grandmother and great grandmother. She will also be sadly missed by her surviving siblings, in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Mom’s love for her family was boundless.

Mom was fiercely proud, highly principled, deeply loving. A woman of remarkable strength and resilience who faced life with courage and determination. There was nothing she couldn’t do whether it be sewing, completing business college, teaching herself computer programming or doing body work on our car. An athlete and repeat medalist at the senior games. Mom was a Jill of all trades, and she did it with style.

Losing your mother is one of the deepest sorrows your heart can know. Rest peacefully Mom/Grandma, your legacy of love and laughter lives on in our hearts.

Mom's life on earth cannot be measured, only treasured.

We’ve been happy neighbours to Jean for almost 30 years. She was a kind, thoughtful & generous neighbour from the first day we moved in & all the years that followed. RIP Jean. We’ll always remember you.

She was always and will always be in my memory. She played a great part in my childhood and for that I am forever grateful. My love goes out to her family and siblings.

Marilyn and Nancy

I am so very sorry to hear of your mom's death. I have many memories of her: driving us to school (much faster than I was used to); riding her bike or speed walking to go to play badminton; keeping an eagle eye on us so we didn't go into the living room; her infectious laugh; her trying to teach us how to sew; the fantastic barbie doll clothes (including nylons!) that she whipped out of nothing; letting us bang on the piano, make a mess of the playroom, and tolerated all of our antics both inside and outside. She was a fantastic woman, loyal to her family and friends (especially my mother), with a quick smile and grace. Your loss is profound; I wish you all the comfort and peace you can find from family, friends, and cherished memories.
