In Celebration of

Elizabeth Di Renzo

July 14, 1939 -  July 26, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, nonna and friend, Elizabeth McLaren Di Renzo (Anderson) on Wednesday July 26, 2023, at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga at the age of 84. Beloved wife of Nino (predeceased) for 59 years. Cherished mother of Katrina, mother-in-law of Paul, and Nonna of Iyla.

Elizabeth was born in Glasgow, Scotland, to William Steven Anderson and Jean McLaren Anderson (Osman) and sister to Margaret Winters (Anderson) and Robert “Bobby” Anderson. Elizabeth immigrated to Canada where she married, had a family and nurtured many life-long friendships.

Although Elizabeth never returned to Scotland, she brought Scotland to Canada. With her notable Scottish brogue, Elizabeth would strike up conversations with anyone she met during her “messages”, ready to share a Scottish saying or phrase, particularly to those with “barins”, “wee ones” and dogs, leaving many confused but endeared. She loved to have a “blether” with her dear friends, family and neighbours, for whom she was eternally grateful.

Elizabeth will be remembered for the intense love she had for others and her strong sense of community. She will be forever missed.

Sweet dreams, hen.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Trillium Health Partners Foundation is appreciated.

Sincere condolences on the loss of your beautiful Mom. We know Elizabeth from walking our dog, Luna in the neighborhood.
If she saw us, we were called over for a chat and a treat for Luna. When we walked by her home, Luna would glance her way.I recall some animated conversations and lots of laughter during those chats!
Rest in peace, Elizabeth. Your bright presence and warm smile will be missed in the neighborhood!🙏
