We offer our deepest condolences to the Doug Codner family in the passing of Eleanor. She was on the prayer list at Our Lady of Assumption Church for over a year and many prayers were offered for Eleanor. Also we extend our sympathy to Helen MacDonald, Eleanor's sister and her family during this sad time.
I knew the parents very well, Frank Fitzgerald was my Dad's (Tom Heffernan) first cousin and Lourdes Scollard Fitzgerald the mom was a sister of my Aunt Rita Scollard Heffernan married to Francis (Frank) Heffernan my Uncle.

Sincere condolences on your loss. Cousin Eleanor & I went through grade school & HS together and then on to Trent University at the same time where we both got our first degrees. From my perspective, she was a good & very interesting person and achieved much; we are all proud of her. I sometimes wish our life paths had kept us closer but take comfort in knowing we will re-connect on the other side. Cherish your memories of her.

Cousin Peter (now almost 40 years in the West)

We have been good friends with Eleanor since we first met her in Peterborough in the early '80's. She and Doug have joined us for dinners, weekends at the cottage (theirs or ours), attended a fiddle concert in Shelbourne, braved a trip to Kingston with all our young kids and enjoyed a sensational trip to Hawaii! We would often re-live our times together, such as, the glorious time we spent riding in an open air convertible in Hawaii taking in all the glorious sights and smells of the island! Eleanor was a terrific friend to share this with and we will miss her penchant for story-telling, her insightfulness and especially her kindness.
God bless you, Eleanor....... Love, Judy and Herb
