In Celebration of

Eleanor Christian Warwick

February 15, 1928 -  September 1, 2024

Eleanor passed away peacefully in her 97th year at Baycrest Hospital Palliative Care Unit on September 1, 2024.

Dear and loved wife of the late William Warwick for 54 years. Loving mother of Susan (Pat Muise) and Jill O'Brien. Loving grandma/gramma of Flannery (Ryan Bouchard), Cameron (Kacy), Tegan and Stuart. Dear sister of Eileen Hutcheon.

Eleanor graduated as a registered nurse from Women’s College Hospital in 1950 and delighted in her years there as Head Nurse in the nursery. She later enjoyed her work as a teacher’s assistant for the North York Board of Education.

In her retirement, Eleanor’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She also found happiness in baking, bowling, and sharing time with her close friends and family. While travel wasn’t a defining aspect of her life, she cherished a memorable cruise to Alaska, a meaningful trip to the Kentucky Derby, and a special journey to the UK.

Eleanor will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever treasure her love and kindness. With many thanks to all the staff at The Village of Humber Heights for their dedicated care over the past years. Heartfelt gratitude to Khadija Yasin, who lovingly cared for Eleanor during her last year. Special thanks to Dr. Turi and Dr. Samant at Humber River Regional Hospital. Thanks also to Dr. Senderovich and the dedicated front-line staff at The Shirley and Philip Granovsky Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care.

For those that would wish to attend, the visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. A complete service will be held in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Women’s College Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Heartfelt sympathy to Jill and the rest of the family on their loss. Eleanor lived a good long life. As a teenager I remember visiting and how welcoming Mrs. Warwick was. I fondly recall her amazing shortbread cookies. This picture captures her smile which doesn't appear to have changed in 50 years!

As a friend of Mrs Warwick's daughter Jill, I have many fond memories of visiting their home on Camborne. From enjoying the famous shortbread cookies on Christmas Eve to watching the last game of the Canada Russia series, Mrs Warwick was always kind and generous to us. Condolences to the family.
