On January 3rd, 2025, we lost our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend, Eileen Nimer. Born alongside her identical twin sister, Pauline, on August 7th, 1934, in Middlesex, England, Eileen's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, adventure, resilience, and an enduring zest for life that she shared with her late husband, Peter, who sadly passed away on October 5th, 2021.
Eileen and Peter's love story unfolded quickly. They married in 1965, welcoming their first son, Jean Paul, in Paris. Though their joy was tragically cut short by Jean Paul's passing just ten days after his birth, their love endured and carried them through. A new chapter began when a job opportunity and the excitement of Expo 67 brought them to Montreal. There, they welcomed their son, Paul (Boulos), and later moved to Ontario, closer to Peter's family, where their daughter, Jacqueline, was born.
Eileen, a devoted mother and grandmother to JP, Jada, Lucas, Myles, and Sophia, found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved music, dancing, and gatherings, always ensuring those around her were happy and that the room was filled with love and laughter. Her beautiful strength and independent spirit allowed her to overcome obstacles and live life on her terms. Even in her later years, her will to live defied the odds, a testament to the vibrant spirit she carried within her. She was proud of her children and grandchildren, and her face would light up whenever she spoke of them.
We will miss Eileen deeply, her infectious spirit, her warmth, and her unwavering love. But we find solace in knowing that she passed peacefully in her sleep, and that she is now reunited with Peter and Jean Paul. We know that she will always be with us, protecting and guiding us from above.
Thank you, Eileen, for teaching us about the joys of love, life and embracing simple pleasures. Rest peacefully and please give Peter a big hug from us all. We will carry you both forever in our hearts, until we meet again.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross, as well as the scleroderma society.
