In Celebration of

Edmund Szczepanek

January 11, 1927 -  August 24, 2023

It is with a heavy heart of sorrow and love that we mourn the passing of Edmund Szczepanek. Edmund was born in France and passed away on August 24, 2023 at the age of 96.

Beloved husband of 60 years to Zofia (née Sopel). Loving father and father-in-law of Ann Snopek, Joanne (Zbyszek) Noworolski and Grace (Marek) Brynczka. Cherished grandfather to Jennifer, Stephanie, Ryan, Jared and Caitlin.

Edmund was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and cross country skiing. For those who know him from his days at the cottage in Muskoka he will forever be known as Mr. No.

Edmund will be remembered for his willingness to lend a helping hand to his neighbours.

You can shed tears or smile because he has lived and see all that he has left.

Friends may call Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel (2357 Bloor Street West, at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway Station) from 6-9 pm on Friday. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish (12 Denison Avenue, Toronto) at 9:30 am on Saturday, September 2, 2023. Interment to follow at Sanctuary Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Humber River Health Foundation in honour of Edmund.

May his memory be eternal.

Wieczny odpoczynek racz Mu dac Panie.

I lived my holidays in Canada twice with Edmund, my grand uncle, my grandfather’s brother.
I loved his laugh and his matter to say « oh ! lots of traffic! » even if there were few cars on the road.
His joy of living was contagious and if he was laughing, you cannot stay stoic. He loved life, he fell in love with life. He knew how to express the taste of life.
A lot of things passed through his smile.
He was the perfect example of one who never gives up.
I’m glad to have known this simple, honest and upright man.
My thoughts, my prayers goes to my cousins, to Zofia and all his family in Canada.
God bless you all.

That is with deep sadness that i ve learnt the death of my grand uncle Edmund. He was my grand father's brother and i have been lucky and very happy to spend time with him and all his family at Toronto and Muskoka. As i was a teenager he learnt me how to fish and shot with a rifle. Edmund was a good personn and i liked his sense of humor. His laugh and his smile will miss me.
All my thoughts to him and my canadian family. I love you all even if we are separated by a long distance.
I hope we will have soon the opportunity to see eachothers.
Love always
XOXO
Marie Hélène Szczepanek
