Edite Valdmanis

June 25, 1920 - February 14, 2019

Just as she lived her life, Edite died with grace and dignity in her 99th year.

Loving wife of 58 years to Osvalds Valdmanis (deceased). Dear mother of Dace (Agnar), Maija (John), Imants (deceased) and Viesturs (Linda). Proud and loving grandmother of Victor (Despo), Erik (Ria), Ingrid (Jonathan), Andrejs (Nancy), Chris (Paula), Heidi (David) Robert (France), Matthew (deceased) (Patrcia), Michael (Andra), Heidi (Alex), Terra (Trevor) and Ryan. Much adored great grandmother to 17 great grandchildren.

Edite was a special woman who will be sorely missed by all those who knew, loved and adored her. Edite will be remembered for her incredible strength, kindness, generosity and unending love for her family. The family wishes to thank Trillium Health Partners – Mississauga Hospital nurses and staff for their special care and kindness extended to Edite during her stay.

A celebration of her life will take place at Turner and Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga on February 26th - visitation will be at 2:00pm followed by a service at 3:00pm. Internment will take place on February 27th at 2:00 pm at Mount Royal Cemetery, Outremont, QC.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Trillium Health Partners, Mississauga Hospital.

Dear Grandmother,
Thank you for always making an effort to keep in touch with each of us through your phone calls & cards. I have happy memories of visits to your home in both Montreal and Mississauga...rye bread, liverwurst, dancing the polka with Grandfather, eating Hershey chocolate bars which were broken up into squares in a dish on the buffet, your collection of elephants with their trunks turned up, your red couch, trying on your jewelry, reading the stories in your encyclopedias, going up on the rooftop of your Montreal apartment, and your big smile when we would show up for a visit, you asking"Heidi, how are you!".
