In Celebration of

Dušan Bratičević

February 11, 1947 - October 10, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Dušan. An accomplished mathematician, professor, computer scientist, entrepreneur, and artist, he was first and foremost a family man. Dušan was a pillar of our wider family; so many people in Serbia, Montenegro, and Canada looked up to him for guidance and advice. He carried all that responsibility with grace. His wisdom will continue to guide us for many years to come.

Friends and family may visit at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 5-8pm. A Funeral service will be held in the Chapel Friday, October 25, 2024 at 1pm. Interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.

The family is requesting that a donation be made to the Toronto Sickkids Hospital in lieu of flowers. With sincere gratitude, Jesenka, Miljan, Milena, Caroline, Murat, Marko, and Emma.

Duca je bio moj najbolji prijatelj od kada je dosao u Kanadu, nisam imao boljeg. Vidjali smo se cesto, na ruckovima i vecerama, ali i na kaficama, da caskamo o svemu i svacemu. Ogromna rupa je u mojoj dusi, nema bas nikoga da je zapusi, imam samo neverovanje da mog Duce vise nema!

Dusan je bio nas najbolji prijatelj,susret sa njim za nas je bio praznik jer smo se vracali obogaceni njegovom mudroscu, ljubavlju i razunevanjem. U njegovoj blizini smo se osecali zasticenim jer je on voleo ljude i u svakome je zeleo da vidi samo dobro.Njegova ljubav ce nas grejati do kraja zivota jer ce on u nasim srcima ziveti zauvek.

We have many fond memories of Dusko: parties and slavas at the house, Christmas parties for the kids at the office (where, of course, he was Santa), many rich and rewarding technical debates over the years we worked together.

Dusko was a great man. A good friend and a wise mentor. We will remember and miss him. Please accept our deep and sincere condolences.
