It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Armando on Sunday, April 14th, 2019 at the Dorothy Ley Hospice. Armando was born February 1st, 1956 in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Elsa (nee Mazzucchin) and the late Armando Antoniazzi. Immigrating to Canada with his parents and sister Ana in 1964, Armando loved being Canadian, right from his first snowfall.

Armando’s fascination of science took him to University of Toronto where he graduated with a Doctorate of Engineering Physics, Aerospace in 1988. Upon graduation he began his career at Kinectrics where he spent over 30 years as a scientist and project manager. Armando was dedicated to his work—he looked forward to every day, from the challenge, to the people, to understanding the universe.

Armando met Paula in 1976 and immediately knew he had found the love of his life. They dated for five years and were married in Toronto on October 24th, 1981. Paula introduced him to traveling the world, which they enjoyed together and later with their children. They visited numerous countries during their 38 years of marriage.

The greatest joy of Armando’s life was being a dad to his children. He and Paula are proud parents to four wonderful children: Megan, Lorna, Lucas and the late Kyle. Building a close relationship with all his kids was always a priority for Armando. Between playing games, hanging out on the beach and sharing a fascinating article, spending time together with them brought him endless happiness.

A big part of Armando’s life with family and friends was camping. Every summer he would take multiple trips to Ontario’s provincial parks to enjoy nature, hiking, campfires, cooking pie irons and swimming. But it was hard to beat the Pinery—for the past 20 years, Armando and his family and friends have gone to Pinery Provincial Park and taken more pictures than they know what to do with. They took a family sunset picture every year. They will continue to do so in his memory.

Armando will be lovingly remembered by many of this friends and extended family. Friends and family may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. (East of Jane subway station) on Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the All Saints Kingsway Anglican Church at 10 a.m. Those wishing to make a donation in Armando’s name, please consider The Dorothy Ley Hospice who treated Armando and his family with love and respect at the end of his life.
