In Celebration of

Douglas LeRoy Thompson

July 4, 1941 -  July 12, 2023

Passed away suddenly at home, on July 12, 2023 at the age of 82.

Beloved husband of Yvonne (nee Lewis) for 52 years. Loving father of Nigel, Denise, and Michael (Spouse - Natasha) Thompson. Cherished grandfather of Jacob, Lauren, Noah, and Carmen. Adoring Uncle to Pamela, Wendy, and Deon Walters.

Endearing Grand-Uncle to Rhonda, Veron, Jason, Tyshaune, Keiwana, Keiya, Reynaldo, Jeffrey, and Travis. Loving member of the Warner family. Mr. Thompson will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends across the West Indies, United States, and Canada.

Born in McKnight, Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis, he was honoured to serve in the police force for many years, until he immigrated to Canada in 1970. Upon arrival he served as a police officer for the Canadian National Railway. After retirement from the police force, he joined the Toronto District School Board as a hallway monitor at Burnhamthorpe Collegiate. Mr. Thompson was an active member of the New Born Church Of God, where he provided mentoring to young adults. As a community member, he exemplified a relentless commitment to serve others.

He was a talented musician, who played many instruments and was particularly inspired by gospel music.

Above all, he was devoted to his faith and his family. He will be sadly missed.

It was always fun chatting with Doug about a myriad topics. We would talk about his family and how proud he was of their achievements. We would catch up on the goings on in our neighbourhood. And we would armchair manage about baseball.
Rest in peace, Doug, I am going to miss you. You will always be remembered.
