In Celebration of

Douglas James Morris

August 19, 1943 -  July 15, 2020

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of our adored Husband, Father and Grandfather. He was born in Toronto on August 19, 1943 and passed away peacefully in his home on the afternoon of July 15th 2020. He has left a horrible hole in our hearts. Doug was the beloved husband to Mary Lou (Lackie) for 52 extraordinary years. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Shelley (Dave Olsen) and his son, James (Colleen) and his special granddaughters, Kate and Brooke. His favourite place was the cottage, where he enjoyed making wonderful memories with his family. We will miss our headstrong and humble leader who was known for his quick wit and all the wisdom he could extol through a perfectly timed one-liner. He led by example through his distinguished career as a Senior Executive at Taiga Building Products. Some people come into our lives and quickly go; some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same. He was a friend and mentor to many, but nothing compared to the love, thoughtfulness and generosity that he exemplified for his family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local Food Bank. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca

So sorry to hear about Doug. A great leader at taiga.
Doug was a no nonsense gentleman. King of the one liners for sure. "The round ones are beach balls"
The world will miss you Doug.

I wish to express my sincere condolences to Mary Lou and the family. I am so sorry for your loss. Doug and I shared many experiences whether it be a love of golf, hamburger surveys, muffin making, many laughs, fishing, one liners, just fun!!! I will miss him tremendously. Lorry
