In Celebration of

Dorothy Jean Goodier

October 1, 1925 -  August 27, 2021

Dorothy Jean Goodier passed away Aug. 27, 2021 at home in Toronto after a long life. She is survived by son John and predeceased by husband John Alfred Goodier and parents Harry and Geraldine (nee Cooper) Aldrich. A graduate of Western University, following her husband's death, Dorothy worked for many years with the Toronto Public Library, Swansea Branch, and as a correspondence school tutor. Gifted with a sharp mind and superb memory, she was generous to so many, especially children. Interment will be at St. George's Church on the Hill, Etobicoke, and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Dorothy will be deeply missed. ..."To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die."

John we are so sorry for the loss. Dorothy was kind, sharp and always cheerful. We enjoyed our discussions and always asked about the kids. We will miss her calls but will remember her wisdom and strength that she demonstrated over the years.

My deepest condolences. I worked with Dorothy at Swansea, and she was well loved both by the staff and the Swansea patrons. I'll always remember her love of going to Gordon Lightfoot concerts and Calypso concerts. She always spoke so proudly of her son John (one fish, two fish). I will always have good memories of her.
