In Celebration of

Dorothy Helen Williams (nee Weber)

July 17, 1924 -  September 21, 2020

Dorothy left us today on Monday, September 21, 2020, to join her husband Roy, son Russell (2014 and 1965), family and friends.

Dorothy was born on July 17, 1924, in New York City to loving parents Mary (nee Horvath) and Robert Weber who as teenagers traveled alone from their native countries Hungary and Austria to the U.S. before World War I.

She had 1 sibling, a big brother John 7 years her senior.

Dorothy leaves her beloved son Christopher Howard and wonderful daughter-in-law Mary. A niece Maura in California, nephew John and his wife Linda in New York, and family in Canada, U.S. Hungary, and Austria.

She resided in New York and Connecticut before immigrating to Canada in 1967.

Dorothy had a very active social life. She was an avid 10 pin bowler for many years. She won many trophies and awards which were later donated to a handicapped children’s league.

She was a founding member of the original Mississauga Valley Seniors and St. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister for over 32 years.

Dorothy also enjoyed playing cards especially Duplicate Bridge and was manager of Club Rainbow for over 19 years and always sat at table #1.

Of her Life Dorothy said:

“I had a long and eventful life – a great childhood, a caring family, and many good friends. A very happy marriage to Roy for over 67 years (who I met at age 15 and he 19) and to be blessed with God’s greatest gift of an angel son Russell, and a second blessing of Chris and Mary who were always there for me”

Dorothy’s outgoing and friendly personality touched all who knew her. Rest in peace Dot

A private family funeral will be held. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be scheduled for a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to any children’s foundation.

I knew Dorothy from the Mississauga valley seniors club when I worked at the valleys myself. She, Roy and I became very good friends and we always had a fun visit in the office. I have several of Roy's excellent pictures hanging in my home and will never forget either of these two wonderful people. I am so sad to hear of Dorothy's passing. She will be greatly missed by anyone who knew her. My very deepest sympathy to her family.
