In Celebration of

Doris Horvat

March 1, 1936 -  April 4, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Horvat (nee Trimble), who passed away peacefully, at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, on Friday, April 4, 2025 in her 90th year.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband John and siblings Marjorie, Howard, Alice, and Bernice.

She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter Monica, and a cherished mother-in-law to Kevin. She is survived by her siblings Ross, Norma, Clara, and Edith and will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews.

Though her presence will be profoundly missed, we take solace in knowing that her light will continue to shine through the lives she touched. We are grateful for the time we had with her and the memories that will forever be a part of our hearts.

Rest in peace. You have been a protector and a bright light in our lives, and we will carry your love, wisdom, courage, and strength with us always.

If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a Catholic Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Auntie Dorris was an elegant lady. As a young girl it was always special to visit our city relatives. The Horvat family alway enjoyed coming to visit the farm. She lived a long full life. Rest in peace.

I finally remember the efforts that uncle John and aunt Doris made to maintain a relationship with their extended family, although I didn’t get to see them often as they lived in Mississauga when they did come to our farm, uncle John and aunt Doris would show consideration to me, even though I was still a child and we often had some nice conversations, now many years later I had a chance to see her in her final years a few times and really enjoyed the conversation we had and the time we could spend with her and Monica and Kevin. The Trimble family was a large family and the qualities that the siblings exhibited is one of respect and dignity and appreciation for the relationship they have. she will be dearly missed along with my other relatives who have passed away in the Trimble family. We will continue to remember them and most importantly our God & Life Giver whose memory is unfading. May we all have faith in the future.
