In Celebration of

Donald P. Jodoin

August 31, 1960 -  February 25, 2023

With the most profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Donald Peter Jodoin on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

He leaves behind a shattered family and countless cherished friends. Don dearly loved and was deeply committed to his wife and best friend, Sayuri, daughter Anika and his two sons, Eric and William. They were the light of his life and his first priority always.

Don is survived by his mother, Maureen (Pete, predeceased in 2013), his sisters, Linda (Chris), and Diane (Pat), and his two brothers, Richard (Olga) and Robert (Susan). His father- and mother-in-law, John and Emiko Childs, and his sisters-in-law, Erica and Mariko Childs. Many nephews, Scott (Lorelle) and Jeff Emberley, Phil (Jessica) and Matt Jodoin, Peter Jodoin, Benjamin Harris, Adam and Oliver Childs, and a grand niece and several grand nephews.

Don’s time centered around his kids, whether it be biking them to school, organizing lunchtime shinny games, or coaching the boys in hockey. He was the ultimate dance recital Dad, rarely missing a competition, even learning the difference between an arabesque and a fouetté. Affectionately known as“Uncle Donny” to many of the kids in his extended family, he was always a supportive fan - be it for hockey, football, track and field, lacrosse, or basketball.

Second to Don’s love for his family was his passion for golf and his endless pursuit of the perfect shot and a hole-in-one. He was a member of the Lambton Golf and Country club for 30 years, where he formed lifelong friendships. He was proud to have Will and Ben recently join the club as junior members and played with them as often as he could. He loved getting together with the card sharks to play Hearts. Unfortunately, he never mastered the game.

Visitation will be held at Lambton Golf and Country Club on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service. Link to livestream below

The family requests in lieu of flowers, any charitable donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Tire’s Jump Start program.

Sayuri, we are very sorry for your loss. Don was a good coach, great friend and most importantly a wonderful dad. I enjoyed the time I spent with him. Whether the kids were on the same team or not, he always had a welcoming smile and big heart. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are wth you, Eric and the whole family.

I am so sad for you and your family as you try to understand why. Your brother, Don, sounds like a wonderful father, partner, brother and friend.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
