Donald Keith Johnston

Donald died peacefully at home on April 29, 2024 after a two and one half year journey with malignant melanoma.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Claire Veenstra on June 8, 2023.

He will be deeply missed by his sisters Sandra Cloutier and Beth Johnston and his brothers-in-law, Jean Cloutier, Al Martens (Betty) and John Veenstra (Edith).

He adored, and was adored by, his nieces and nephews, Alison, Kevin, Rob, Elizabeth, Emily, Gabrielle, Daniel and Emilie and his grandnieces and nephew, Tessa, Quintin, Alexandra, Reese and Madeleine.

Don was a remarkable person, positive, caring and compassionate.

He was both careful and adventurous as evident in his love of flying. His precision and attention to detail was manifested in the beautiful objects that came from his woodworking shop. It is hard to imagine a world without him.

You are invited to a visitation at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., Friday May 3rd, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4th at The First Christian Reformed Church, 67 Taunton Rd., Toronto.
