In Celebration of

Dolores "Dolly" Helen Farah (nee Simony)

July 23, 1925 -  July 1, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to Dolly who passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, just before her 97th birthday. Dolly was a sweet, devoted, and loving wife, mother, and siti (grandmother). Her family and friends were her greatest treasures. She was an angel to all who knew her. Dolly loved life. She never wanted to miss out on any event that involved her family or close friends. Dolly had an amazing sense of humour and was always up for the next adventure. She was an excellent cook (especially known for her Lebanese cuisine by all who loved her). She was a creative and meticulous seamstress and had a love for playing cards and games with her children and grandchildren. In her earlier days, Dolly was an active member of the Hasroun Club and the Catholic Women’s League.

Predeceased by her husband Joseph, of 66 years. Dearest mother to Charlene Jablonowski (Alex), Pat Barnet (Brendan), Rosie Della Spina (Tony), Judy St. Louis (Bruce), Joe Farah (Jacquie), Sandie Tracey (Jay), Gerry Farah (Sheila), and Michelle Farah. She will be greatly missed by her 21 grandchildren and by her 21 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who she adored. She is predeceased by her parents, Rose and Sam Simony, and her siblings Rose (Charlie), Joseph (Lillian), Mary (Eddie), Ameil (Helen), Amelia (Paul), and Helen.

Dolly’s family would like to extend their warm gratitude to Acclaim Health and the tremendous support provided by the PSWs and nurses. Special thanks to Jeannie, Michelle, PJay, Vivian, Kim, Leslie, Suman, Dr. Breen and Dr. Perkins for their exceptional, compassionate care. Thank you to Monseignor Joe Shiels for his spiritual support. Thank you to Ian Anderson House for the wonderful kindness they extended to us, during our mom’s final hours.

Visitation will be held at the Turner & Porter Funeral Home, Neweduk-Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. West, Mississauga on Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 1 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 1150 Monks Passage, Oakville, on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ian Anderson House hospice care.

Dear Cousins,

My heart goes out to you and your families, as I remember the many wonderful years of Aunt Dolly in my life. She and Uncle Joe were always filled with smiles and laughter, whenever our families visited with each other. Such good times and great memories!

How blessed Aunt Dolly was, to live such an amazing life, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Through God’s love, we too, were blessed to have her in our lives. She will be forever loved and dearly missed.
