In Celebration of

Dmytro Melnyk

November 7, 1924 -  September 13, 2019

He passed away at home with his loving family by his side, on September 13th 2019 at the age of 94.9.

He was born November 7th, 1924 in Radymno, Poland to Pavlo Melnyk & Maria Stopa. He had 6 sisters and one brother and he was lucky #7 out of the bunch.

Dmytro was a Beloved Husband to Slawomira Melnyk & an Extraordinary loving Father to Peter & Donna Melnyk.

Our father was an amazing, remarkable and kind soul. Everyone that came into contact with him would feel his positive, vibrant, happy and Loving energy.

He was a very proud Ukrainian and through his love of travel he learned 8 languages. His passions included riding his bike to play tennis, playing soccer, skiing and taking photos. No matter the age he was, he was always eager to learn new things. He was a great conversationalist and will be remembered for his memory recollection and stories. His favorite attire was wearing his white tennis shorts, shirt and sneakers.
"The best kind of person is the one that comes into your life, and makes you see the sun where you once saw clouds. The person that believes in you so much, you start to believe in yourself too. The person that loves you, simply for being you. This is a once in a lifetime person and that was Dmytro."

You will never be forgotten and you will always be loved because you were a once in a lifetime Soul that is etched into our hearts.

We Love you Tata

I met Mr Melnyk 25 years ago when I became friends with his daughter, I do remember him wearing his white shorts and shirts riding his bike. One thing he could do was talk about anything and everything, what a smart man he was. Also everytime he would see us leave the house and get into the car he would say ‘good luck’ . He was one if a kind ....

So sorry to see an obituary of a neighbour from long ago. We lived on Herman Avenue (32 years ago). I remember my dad getting up early on weekends, along with some other guys on the street, to play tennis with your dad. I also remember him sitting on our porch with a bunch of guys and just cracking jokes.

Your dad was a funny, smart and kind man. May he Rest In Peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
