Dimitra Christoforacos

August 15, 1925 -  October 28, 2023

After a long blessed life, Dimitra passed away peacefully at Bridgepoint Hospital on October 28, 2023 in the evening.

Cherished wife of 72 years to Giorgios, loving mother to Hellene, beloved grandmother of Anathea, Marisa, Jena (Chris), Loving great-grandmother to Fynn and Hudson.

Dimitra immigrated to Canada along with her daughter in 1955 to reunite with her husband. She was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother and great grandmother, a loving sister and aunt. She lived a blessed life of loving, giving, and gratitude and was a feminist at heart, who spoke with wisdom and courageously battled illnesses throughout her life. Dimitra loved to cook for her family and friends delicious Greek meals, and was a warm welcoming hostess. Her love of reading continued throughout her life as did her interest in current affairs. A talented seamstress, a woman who loved her crafts to pass the time who always had something on the go. Dimitra will be sadly missed by her immediate and extended Greek family. Dimitra was an example for all to follow, showing strength and courage in all the adversities of life.

Visitation will be held at Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel (2357 Bloor Street West) on Wednesday from 2 - 4 p.m., and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Cathedral (136 Sorauren Avenue), at 11 a.m. Interment at Sanctuary Park Cemetery (1570 Royal York Road).

Such sad news to here of Dimitras passing. Condolences to her husband George, daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. May she Rest In Peace, and her Memory be Eternal.
