Dieter Wilhelm Hans Lorenz

July 24, 1953 -  March 28, 2023


Passed away suddenly, but peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in his 70th year.

Beloved husband of Laura for 23 wonderful years. Dear brother of Fred and his wife Ann of Lindsay, and Marianne (her husband the late Andy). Dieter will be missed by his nephew Andy and niece Andrea and family. He will also be missed by his sister in law Karen and her husband Steve and their family. “Special Uncle” of Brennan, Samantha and Mitchell.

Dieter served 36 years with the Toronto Police Service where he was also member of the Toronto Police Ceremonial Unit. After his retirement in 2011 he became a member of the Toronto Police Military Veterans Association. Dieter was also a 23 year member of the Canadian Military Artillery 7th Regiment.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (N. of QEW) on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 4-8 p.m.

A Service of Remembrance will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 11 am.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Bladder Cancer Canada.

Our deepest sympathy to his wife and all of his family. My husband Pat (salty) worked with Dieter and played baseball together. I got to know him from baseball never had the opportunity to work with him. May he R.I.P 🙏
