In Celebration of

Dennis Cannon

January 26, 1938 -  April 4, 2021

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Dennis leaves behind his beloved, Gabrielle Garcia, Matthew Garcia, Melissa Pardoe (Shane) and children, sister-in-law Kathleen Cannon and niece, Lauren, and nephews Darryn, Mike and Trevor Allegretto. He is predeceased by first wife, Fran (Caldwell) and brother, Jim Cannon.

A graduate of the photography program at Ryerson, Dennis Cannon became a top Sales Executive at Kodak in Toronto and Vancouver. The Kodak family remained an important part of his life over the years. Friendship was always a joyful priority for Dennis.

Dennis was universally loved for his incredibly positive and life-affirming character. He shared his incredible gift of photography with everyone he met, and he was a devout jazz aficionado.

Thank you to all the Tenzins and Savitri, as well as the Doctors and Nurses at St Joe’s.
Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto. There are plans for a Celebration of Life when gathering is possible.

It saddens me deeply to lose such an energetic friend like Dennis; his positive and happy demeanor will remain with me always.

Dennis - and his late wife Fran - were like family to us in the 1970's and 1980's when we all lived on the North Shore of Vancouver, and our children were young. Dennis was known for his incredible enthusiasm which inspired our son and daughter in so many ways. He was a kind, thoughtful and energetic friend. Dennis will be missed by all who were privileged to meet him.

In loving Memory Dennis may you rest in peace surrounded in beautiful landscapes, loving dogs with some Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings playing in the background just like in many of the photos you often shared ❤ You will be missed. To Gabi and family my sincere condolences and best wishes
Love Mike

Remembering all the happy years and "the boys" Dennis, Kurt and Yurio and their walks in the Humber Park and trails as well as many backyard bar-b-ques and Christmas and Easter traditional events with other neighbours and friends. I will miss the laughter that Dennis brought to all of us and his conversations that encouraged us to share those moments with one another as well as the photos that magically appeared in our Christmas cards each year of a special place or of us. Every time I hear great jazz I think of the festivals and our yearly visits to the tents to share the music. Thank you Gaby for making his life so special.
