Dennis Barran

October 4, 1943 -  April 5, 2024

Dr. Dennis Valentine Barran, beloved husband of Anne (Arne) Barran
passed away on Friday, April 5th, 2024 at the age of 80 years at home.
Dennis was born on October 4th, 1943 to George and Irene Barran of
Berbice, Guyana, South America. A brother to 5 brothers and 4 sisters;
Gerald (Bibi), Lloyd (Judith), Rita (Sydney), Hardat (Bibi), Annie (Ed) and
Claire and predeceased by Patrick (Dolly), Grace (Duke) and Clinton
(Claudine).
Dennis is fondly remembered by his children and their families; Simone
(Troy), Sherri (Gregory), Steven; his grandchildren Shane, Tyler, Scarlett,
Logan and his great grandchild Levi; and all family and friends.
He was a graduate from Queens College and taught science at Berbice
High School in Guyana. Dennis then received a Bachelor of Arts degree
from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut and then went on to
pursue a degree at the College of Veterinary Medicine in Tuskegee,
Alabama. Dennis moved to Ontario, Canada and was the Veterinarian-in-
Charge at Maple Lodge Farms for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency
for over 30 years.
Dennis was a humble man who enjoyed quiet days at home with family,
friends, a good book and a deck of cards.

Mr. Barran was a jolly soul. I remember him picking up Sherri from our dorm at McMaster and the proud grandpa he was to all his grandkids. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
