July 5, 1944 -  May 27, 2022

Declan Anthony French, born in Dungarvan, Waterford aged 77 has passed away peacefully in his Toronto home on May 27th, 2022 surrounded by his adoring family after a 6 month battle with cancer. He is survived by his dear wife, Christine French, daughter Michelle, sons Sean (Barbara) and Tony (Sunny) and grandchildren Conor, Ronan and Khushi. Declan was born to Brigid Allen and Declan French in Dungarvan, Waterford on July 5th, 1944 and enjoyed a loving childhood on the farm along with siblings Eileen, Jim (dec), Josie, Michael, Pat, and Jack. A true visionary and entrepreneur, a lifelong fan of Waterford’s hurling team and lively music. An avid golfer and an amazing friend. We’ve all been blessed to have had him in our lives and he will be missed beyond comprehension. With every passing day, you have touched our hearts with your condolences, tributes and remembrances of Declan, and we will forever be thankful for your thoughtfulness. How’s the Craic? Up the Deise!

Visitations will be held on Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel at 2357 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M6S 1P4 on Thursday, June 2nd from 2-4pm and then 6-9pm. Please send donations in lieu of flowers to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre at 610 University Ave, Toronto, ON M5G 2C1. Funeral proceedings will take place at Our Lady of Sorrows at 3055 Bloor St W, Etobicoke, ON M8X 1C6 on Friday, June 3rd at 10:30am followed by a Reception at P.J. O'Brien Irish Pub & Restaurant at 39 Colborne St, Toronto, ON M5E 1E3.
