In Celebration of

David Coules

March 1, 1955 -  February 7, 2025

On February 7th, surrounded by his family, Dave passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Dave leaves behind the love of his life and best friend of 50 years, Leslie. Daughters, Lauren (Ryan) and Erika (Robbie) will forever cherish the memories of their beloved dad. Dave was predeceased by his son, Adam, in 2012. Grandchildren, Laikyn, Luke, Addie and Callum will dearly miss their Papa and his world-famous pancakes. Dave was the brother of Blake (Brenda) and son of Bernice and Bill.

Throughout his life, Dave was known for his passion for music, education and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Most importantly, he simply loved spending time with his dear friends and family. His memory will forever live on in the stories we share, the compassion he showed to all those he encountered and in the lessons he taught us. Above all, he was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who embodied the true meaning of unconditional love. We are thankful for every moment we had with him and will always carry his love and spirit in our hearts.

After Adam’s death, Dave worked tirelessly to promote the importance of supporting cancer research by shining a light on the life-saving work of The Princess Margaret Hospital. To honour this legacy, in lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Journey to Conquer Cancer in Dave’s name.

Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter "Peel Chapel" 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 2-6 p.m.

Memorial Service will be held in the chapel on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 11 a.m. with reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Princess Margaret Journey to Conquer Cancer 2025 – David Coules.

My deepest condolences to the family. Dave was an outstanding educator. His time at Cawthra Park SS was limited, but in that time we managed to convince him to conduct our junior jazz ensemble... he did such a fabulous job! A gem of a colleague to work with. I so very sad to hear this news....another good one taken much too soon.... another bright star in the sky tonight. Sincerest condolences to you all. Mary Ann

For Dave, a lovely person, generous, kind and truly great company. You are already much missed by all who knew you. Hugs to Leslie, your daughters and numerous grandkids.

Dave was always fair and kind to the difficult students I worked with . Even though he had to suspend students, for various reasons, he always encouraged them to come and see me. I always believed that students behaved a certain way for a reason…and Dave supported my work. He was kind and really cared about students who were troubled. I’m very sad that he is no longer with us Rest in Peace Dave and thank you for all your support.

Condolences to all who mourn the immense loss of a lovely human being...a man who, without accolades, educated students on academics, arts and how to be good people. May you all find peace and healing in your fond memories.
