In Celebration of

David Arthur Prowse

September 6, 1956 -  March 6, 2021

On Saturday March 6, 2021, at the age of 64, by sudden heart attack. Dave enjoyed life to the fullest, tackling the biggest projects with his legendary talent and determination. We will always picture him in his favorite place on earth, carving trails on his snowmobile or carving a wake in his stunning handmade runabout. If you were looking for Dave, you would check his shop first, where he could be found crafting a timeless treasure. He lifted up those he loved with his perfect balance of care and comedy while staying true to the values and character that now make it so hard for all of us to say goodbye.
Dave cared deeply for his family. Beloved husband of Joanne for over 37 years. Devoted father of Emily and Allison, father in-law of Brent and Marcus, and adored grandfather of Silas and Abigail. Please consider a donation to Star Academy’s Love to Learn Foundation at this link. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/t/60180. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca

We were lucky enough to know Dave for several years. Often on his way to his island, he would stop here first to enjoy a nice cold cocktail. Always smiling and always talking about his beautiful wife and daughters. We were as shocked as everybody else when hearing of his sudden passing. Our thoughts now are with Joanne and the girls. Mere words can’t describe.

I will always remember Dave for his sense of humour and being full of beans. He has been taken far too soon. Keeping Joanne and family in my thoughts and prayers.

Sandy and I stayed at Clare Island with Dap and Jo for a weekend of fun good food and many libations! Friday night I was tasked to cooking big beef on the Bar B. As most of you know Dap wasn’t much of a cook, that was Jo’s area of expertise . I had a real hard time getting the old BBQ going and we laughed that maybe it was time for a new one..
I got out of bed Saturday morning to find a new BBQ in 2 large boxes on the front deck.
When I enquired how did this get here... I was told Dap got up early.. took the boat to the marina.. drove to Barrie... bought it at Napoleon and returned to the marina ..
Put both boxes in the boat .. managed them up from the dock by himself. And since I thought he needed a new one... I was his helper to put it together! 😮👍 And I christened later that night ! I’ll have to ask Jo if he ever used it!

Here is a picture of Dave and his friend on "Roxanne" leaving our bay. They are carrying home the spoils of a hard day's work: two massive rocks for his incredible rock staircase.
