Eldest daughter of Solomon and Winnette, Daphne passed away suddenly at North York General Hospital after a brief illness.
She is survived by her loving children Beverly and Dexter, her son-in-law Andrew, her grandchildren Natashia, Olivia and Elyssia, and her great-grandson Camden “King George” (as she affectionately referred to him).
As the matriarch of the Cyrus Family, she leaves behind 5 sisters (Esme, Decima, Shirley, Elizabeth and M. Naomi), along with multiple nieces and nephews (Erica, Diane, Ian, Kathleen, June, Charleen, Nailah, Johanne, Jonelle, Nicole, Collin, Craig and Roger).
Daphne will be laid to rest with her parents and sister Barbara nearby. She will be truly missed by all members of her family, friends and past colleagues.
A private visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, on Thursday September 9, 2021 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, and a private funeral service will be held the following day on Friday September 10, 2021 at 11:00 am, also at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel.

Info: Daphne's Celebration will be live-streamed, and Covid-19 indoor measures apply. As a result, only 20 invited guests are allowed at the service. That includes the pastor and videographer. Masks, hand sanitizer, and physical distancing are expected to be used while inside the building, so you are offered hand sanitizer upon entry and before signing the Guest Book. Also, individual singing is allowed, but choral singing is not, due to the increase risk of airborne virus transmission. So, only those scheduled to sing during the service should sing out loud. And, no additional participants are allowed in the parking lot. Also, instead of sending flowers, please forward a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, which has an entry under Donations. Anyone interested in attending the Interment can join us at Burlington Memorial Gardens at approximately 1:00 pm. For those wishing to view the livestream, please copy and paste the link provided. Info: The interment ceremony will also be live-streamed, and Covid-19 outdoor measures apply. So, out of an abundance of caution, please continue to observe masking and physical distancing rules, as much as possible. Also note that there is very limited seating, so if you require a seat, please contact a member of the family to arrange one. There is also no public washroom access on the cemetery grounds, either outside or inside the buildings. And, pallbearers are asked to consider their choice of shoes, since grass can be slippery. Finally, as with the Celebration, instead of sending flowers, please forward a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, which has an entry under Donations.
