In Celebration of

Danny Machado Gaspar

April 9, 1973 -  November 29, 2020

The man. The myth. The legend.

Danny passed away suddenly at Mississauga Trillium Hospital on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the age of 47. Beloved husband of 21 years and best-friend of Danielle. Proud father and biggest fan of Nathan, Nicholas and Leila. Sadly missed by his mother Maria Otilia Gaspar and father Antero (Laura) Gaspar. Dear brother of Carla, Shawn and Alex. Much loved son-in-law to Bob and Terri Hobbs, and favorite brother-in-law and incessant teaser of Justine. Predeceased by his grandparents and sister-in-law Lisa. Will be greatly missed by extended family, friends, coworkers, and Marco Polo crew.

Danny took great pleasure in enjoying the little things in life: a well-timed joke; comic books, family getaways, cruising, cheering on Toronto sports teams, his prized soul patch, and reminiscing about late nights at ‘Richard’s.’ His playful spirit and mischievous grin will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

To honour his legacy, we invite you to celebrate Danny’s life by sharing a special memory or favorite story in the guestbook.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family funeral will take place before Danny is laid to rest in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the future once the COVID restrictions have lifted.

In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to a charity of your choice.

I am truly heartbroken. Danny, or as I used to call him my dig dirty dog, was the kindest soul one could ever know. Having met Danny through my wife Nana and Danielle’s friendship we bonded instantly. From many nights hanging out waiting for the girls to finish their shift at the Cue, to spending many family events together, Danny was always there to make you smile. I will never forget when the four of us hopped in my Dads van and drove to PEI. Spending days on the road laughing and talking...a memory I will never forget. It’s an honour that Markus had such an amazing person to look up to as his Godfather. He loves his Uncle Danny and will miss his big glowing heart. We love you and will miss you and you will always be in our hearts. May you Rest In Peace my friend.

Bill and I are so happy we got to meet and know Danny and Danielle from the Whatevs cruise in Feb./March 2020. Since that time the friendship bond grew stronger on Marco Polo app. We looked forward to Danny’s early good mornings from Toronto, the banter between him and Boston, a good cup of Tim Hortons, and a shot of patron! The group is not the same without you Danny! We will continue to remember you and the good times we all shared. You were only in our lives a short time, but your memory will live on. Hopefully these good memories and thoughts bring some comfort to your family. Danielle and family you are in our thoughts and prayers. Love Amanda and Bill Francis
