In Celebration of

Daniel Jay Hruska

June 12, 1986 -  March 31, 2022

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved son, Danny, on March 31st at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga. Danny passed peacefully after a long battle with scoliosis and heart issues.

His is predeceased by grandmothers, Audrey & May, uncle Bob, grandfather Al and cousin Lee.

He is survived by his dad and mom, Brian and Carolyn, sister Hayley, grandfather Roy Weatherby and uncles Gary Weatherby (& Wendy) and Dave Hruska (& Cheryl).

Always cheerful and positive, Dan loved people, and his friends and family were very important to him. He enjoyed planning his many fundraisers for the MS Society at PK Creek and International’s. Dan loved his poker and enjoyed years of league play with his many poker friends. One of the highlights of his life was participating in WPT Poker tournaments in Las Vegas three years in a row. He enjoyed the Simpsons, and had a vast collection of Simpsons memorabilia. His other passion was karaoke and his rendition of “Dude Looks Like a Lady” is legendary.

He worked from home for many years as a telemarketer and a consumer research interviewer.

Dan was proud to receive a Top Fundraiser Award from the MS Society, as well as the Civic Award of Recognition for volunteerism from Mayor Bonnie Crombie in 2015.

Dan made a big impression on everyone he met. A great son, a good person, and an inspiration to all. His kind and gentle spirit will not be forgotten; hearing “I love you Mom, I love you Dad” on a daily basis, as well as his never ending hugs, will certainly be missed. We were lucky to be his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.

Please consider a donation to Trillium Health Partners Foundation, or the MS Society, his favourite charity.

Danny was An exceptional young man, struggling myself with MS it means a lot to me that he contributed so much of himself to this cause. Brian and Carolyne you did an amazing job in helping Danny live an amazing and full life. I will let his example remind me that there are no obstacles that qualify as good excuses not to live life to the fullest! Brian and Carolyne i am sure you are proud of your sons life and so you should be, but you should also take pride in the amazing job you did to assist him in living the beautiful life he did. Danny was lucky to have you both. My thoughts are with both of you and his sister Hailey during this challenging and sad time.

Dan was and remains an inspiration to myself, and a wonderful reminder that life is about living it as best as we can for as long as we are aloud to. Regrettably, we connected in person rather Infrequently. Despite the passage of time between visits, Dan welcomed me as if we were best buddies every time I would drop by. His kindness and love for what is possible, even under challenging conditions will have a lasting affect and touches my heart. Thank you Dan for being in this world for as long as you were. I suspect you were simply too good for it.❤️

Danny ....Little Big man, your passing stings.
The world needed more people like you and it's extremely sad to see you go !!!!
It is my sincere hope that you've found yourself no longer in any pain and can live your afterlife with the vigor and compassion you did here on Earth.
