In Celebration of

Danica Tavares

October 14, 1953 -  March 26, 2023

Peacefully at home, on March 26, 2023, surrounded by family, the beloved wife of Tony Tavares, ended a two-year battle with cancer. In addition to her husband, Danica Tavares (nee Todorovic) leaves behind her sons Brian (Kirstin) and Matthew (Amanda); her sister, Mira (Michael), and two grandchildren, Oliver and Emily. She is predeceased by her sister Elena, and parents Veronika and Milorad.

Danica was one of a kind, a very strong, kind, caring and loving person who touched many and will be missed by all who knew her. In her 69 years, Danica established herself as a powerful presence in the lives of those around her. She dedicated herself fully to her family, her friends, and her work and clients. She spoke up for what she believed in, and that included encouraging everyone around her to be the best they could be. Danica applied this commitment to herself, which led to the discovery of her artistic side - a passion and impressive aptitude for interior design. She was a beautiful and loving soul who left us too soon.
Danica is an enduring spirit who loved with her whole heart. She will remain in the hearts and minds of those who knew her.

Family and friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. (at Windermere, east of the Jane subway) and pay tribute to Danica 3-6 pm on Saturday April 1, 2023 and 1-4pm on Sunday April 2, 2023. For those who wish, donations may be made in memory of Danica to the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association at https://www.chpca.ca/donate/, which supports the SRT Med-Staff team who provided Danica exceptional care in her final weeks.
