In Celebration of

Dale Webber

October 1, 1958 -  January 1, 2021

Dale Doreen Ann Webber (nee Henry) passed away at home in Mississauga, Ontario on January 1, 2021. Dale fought a hard battle against a very aggressive cancer since April 2020. She underwent many treatment options, and fought hard, but ultimately the cancer could not be beaten.

Dale is survived by her husband Verne, sons Jay and Scott Phillips, and daughter Rachel Webber. Dale is also survived by her brother Doug, her sister-in-law Carol and nephews Jeff and Rob. Dale was predeceased by parents Jim and Joyce Henry.

Dale lived in Scarborough, on the same street as most of her family through to her early adulthood. She later lived in Kincardine, Oakville, and finally Mississauga. Her life was full of trips around the world, and to the cottage almost every summer. She would host friends, swim, canoe, and would always be ready to play a card game with and against family and friends alike. She was particularly good at Cribbage. Dale will miss her lake friends and her second home on Pine Lake, which she loved dearly.

One of Dale’s proudest accomplishments, other than her children, was returning to university later in life as a single mother and obtaining her undergrad degree and graduating from teachers college. Dale then embarked on a very satisfying and rewarding career as an elementary school teacher with Peel District School Board.

Dale’s Claireville public school “family” have been a fantastic support network for her during a very challenging year. Many days were brightened by the texts, emails, and phone calls expressing heartfelt well wishes for her. Thank you Claireville PS.

A special thank you to Dale’s primary care teams at Credit Valley Hospital lead by Dr. Zigras and Dr. Kuhlmann. Also a big thank you to all the doctors, nursing staff and personal support workers who supported and facilitated Dale being at home with family these final months.

Due to Covid concerns, no formal in-person visitation will be taking place. However, friends and colleagues are encouraged to visit the Turner & Porter Chapel virtually and view reminders of Dale’s life and if desired, contribute to her guest book.

Burial will take place at Fraserburg Cemetery in Bracebridge, Ontario with a graveside celebration of life to take place at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice is preferred. Dale has supported many charities over the years but this year focused on her local food bank and Toy Mountain given the hardships presented to many during the pandemic.

Forever in our hearts as a fantastic friend, partner, and mother. She will be greatly missed.

Words can not express how much I will and already miss you. I’m glad I got to see you one last time in person and will treasure that visit and your visit out west forever. I was hoping for many more. That being said, I guess I’ll win a cribbage games and some phone games finally. You were a great opponent. Love always and forever,

Jay

We know Dale as being vibrant in what ever she choose to do.
She had a great sense of humour.
I came across this poem a couple day
Prior to Dale passing.

For Verne, Rachel, Scott & Jay...

"Across the years I will walk with you-in deep, green forests; on shores of sand; and when our time
on earth is through, in heaven, too,
you will have my hand."

Dale will be emensly missed but not
forgotten. We are thankful she was
in our lives.

Our thoughts and prayers are with
You through this most difficult
Time.
All our love

We as a family are very saddened to hear about the passing of Dale. We have many fond memories of Dale, as our daughter Allyson was very good friends with Rachel which lead to a friendship between our family’s. We look back on very fond memories of Allyson and Rachel experiencing such things as Girl Guides, school functions, birthdays and cottage hangouts together and from these experiences our families came together enabling us to spend an amazing weekend with the Webber’s up at there summer cottage where they made us feel a part of the family and spending many New Years Eve together bowling, playing games or skating at Mississauga’s City Hal for there New Years Eve celebration. Lori will always remember the amazing Halloween costumes Dale would wear when she picked up Rachel from the school Halloween party every year. When we heard the news that Dale was ill with cancer our hearts went out to her, Verne, Rachel, Jay and Scott. The entire family is in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
