Cyril Joseph O’Neill "Cy" 80 of Oakville, passed away October 12, 2025 at Glen Oaks retirement home. Born December 12, 1944 in Long Beach, NL.

Cyril is predeceased by his parents Mary (nee Hawkins) and Michael O'Neill; sisters, Peggy and Marie; and brothers, John, Ed, Don, Ray, and Dick, all of Trepassey, NL.

Cyril is survived by his brothers, Vince (Marie) Gordon (Eleanor); first wife, Catherine (Metcalfe) of Belleville, and their son Joseph (Anya), and beloved grandchildren Dillon & Cassandra, of Toronto.

Dearly missed by his wife Marilyn (Gartley) and her three children; Gordon Kerr (Andrea) and son’s Liam & Gavin; Kathleen McCorriston (Bill), and son James; and William Kerr (Lyndsay), and children Cooper, Clara, & Grady of Toronto.

The funeral service will be held October 16, 2025 at 3:00PM in Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St, Mississauga.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Cy.
Cy was a man of few words but what he said counted. And always fact based.
We shared the love of wood working and renovating our homes. But he was skilled.
He loved Newfoundland and more so his Irish heritage. I think it is fair to say part of him never left the province.
I still have the hat he brought back from one of his many trips to Trepassey NFL. - and I wear it proudly.
Yes - he was a great neighbour and a friend and always willing to help where he could. Like the time we struggled up the stairs with a whirlpool tube - thank you Cy.
